Lana Bridge

This new bridge was already under construction when we were asked to design its balustrade. This left little room for manoeuvre and the intervention therefore had to be very strategic. We decided to focus on turning the bridge into a place whose shape would enable users to slow down and enjoy the view of the mountains and feel the area’s openness, which is markedly different from the messy density of the city centre. The curved shape and generous size of the balustrade enabled new uses and situations, a small but remarkable public space over the river Lana.
