Part of a complete reconversion program of Tirana’s most notorious restaurant, the bar building adds an underground party venue, a ground floor coffee lounge and a first floor viewing terrace. Integrated into one single pavilion, Piazza bar building will become the billboard for its renewed activities.
Designed as an up-scaled post and beam structure, the building sits like a piece of urban furniture between the former socialist slabs, creating an appropriate backdrop for the redesigned outdoor area. The play of seeing and being seen is multiplied by the use of hollow concrete elements, gradually unveiling the multiple spaces inside the building as one approaches it.
