This project encapsulates all the myths of the typical contemporary urban dwelling and the obligatory weekend resort. The housing programme is physically split into its basic components: living area, master bedroom, ancillary guesthouse and bathroom facilities.
At the garden level, three of the four units are arranged in a freestanding composition on a stone base. The garden air can literally pass through the house. The roofed base performs on multiple levels, incorporating the entrance, various terraces and a carport. Below this pedestal the bathroom, dressing-room and storage spaces generate an underground passage between the glass-clad living area and the rounded master bedroom. The guesthouse, constructed of clay and earth, acts as a freely programmable volume. Each component of the house is treated in a specific manner, underlining the ad hoc coherence of any housing programme.
